As the only outlet to catch live video, she along with her team at Excelle Sports helped to give these women a voice to promote their cause. Y’all. Last week I broke protocol and wrote about men in sports on the blog. I feel/felt so strongly about the treatment of black bodies in this country that I just couldn’t remain silent about the most recent incidents of police officers senselessly taking more of those bodies from the face of the earth. After I got that out of my system, I said “CeCe, chill on the politics, race and sports stuff.  Let’s keep it simple, for a while at least.”  Y’all I tried.  I really did.  I introduced a new lighthearted series and even have an awesome Olympic Flashback for you tomorrow.  But Lisa Borders and the WNBA just don’t want me to be great.  They don’t want me to keep things simple. Things just took an interesting turn in the WNBA world, and some players are NOT happy. This week, the Phoenix Mercury, New York Liberty and Indiana Fever were each fined $5,000 after its players wore back warm-up T-shirts in solidarity of the recent shootings that have plagued the country over the past few weeks. Each player on these 3 teams were also fined $500 each for participating in this gesture of activissm. MiS BBQ PART 2 - Join us for another edition of M.I.S. BBQ. Now that the weather is better, folks are feeling the summer vibe AND we'll be celebrating six months as an official networking group. Let's come together for a day of sunshine, networking, and good food.
