MiS x NASCAR

On Saturday March 4th, MiS members attended the Atlanta Motor Speedway NASCAR Opinion Leaders Initiative as part of an emerging partnership between MiS and NASCAR's Diversity team. Below are a few words from their experience:Nicole Powell | Events | The Sportstyle:"Coming into the NASCAR Opinion Leaders Initiative with limited-at-best knowledge about motorsports gave me a tremendous amount of respect for the professionals involved in this industry at the conclusion of the day. The amount of time, training, and money involved in making this diverse, family-owned business successful, is truly underestimated. What was most surprising to mewas the variety of career paths (occupied by women and men of varying racial and ethnic backgrounds) NASCAR has to offer outside of being a driver. By the end of the experience, I walked away as one of NASCAR's newest fans, and I look forward to further educating myself and readers of The Sportstyle about the sport."Cecelia Townes | Beyond the Game LLC | GladiatHers:"The behind-the-scenes look at NASCAR and the Atlanta Motor Speedway gave me a new appreciation for the sport and the men and women who work tirelessly to make NASCAR a success. I'll be watching front and center over the next several years to see what greatness comes out of its Diversity initiatives."Deontay Morris | Turner Sports | ATL:"The NASCAR opinion leader event was an awesome experience. It was great to attend my first NASCAR race and learn more about all of the initiatives to attract more minority fans. The liaisons from NASCAR were awesome hosts. This will not be my last NASCAR event!"Special THANKS to member Nita S | Marketing, Branding & Events for handling MiS's social media during the NASCAR Opinion Leaders initiative and providing phenomenal behind the scenes content.
